Describing the Military-Industrial-Sysadmin-Complex: How We Will Win the 5GW to Shrink the Gap

Dan Abbott postulates a “Military-Industrial-Sysadmin-Complex,” or MISC, as a potential state-centric 5GW force structure that could be developed by the U.S. in order to win “the long war” against America’s current enemies.Linking MISC to Thomas P. M. Barnett’s PNM theory, Abbott expands Barnett’s idea of “The Department of Everything Else” in creating the idea of the Military-Industrial-Sysadmin-Complex. Additionally, Abbott suggests that the previously designed and currently operational “Military-Industrial-Leviathan-Complex” helped America win the Cold War with the Soviet Union although its time is past. According to Abbott, the MISC should replace it.
